When I met with this client to give a free in home estimate in Ocean City, NJ 08226 this wood had been covered forever and had never been refinished, which was astonishing because it is a beautiful 3/4 inch thick Hickory floor. The top picture is the after picture (shiny because wet) and the other picture is the before.The client initially wanted to go dark so I told them we would come over and put stain samples on the floor and decide which direction to go in, we sampled chesnut and Provencial at their request but we also did a natural sample. The family decided that lighter was better and we went with a natural seal coat and 2 coats of Loba water base polyurethane and the floor came out stunning.
