Hardwood staircase refinished Ocean City, NJ 08226
The pictures you see above are the steps sanded raw and then once the steps were completed.
This is a maple staircase that needed to be refinished because it was worn and you could see a lot of grey and black in the treads of the steps. When you see this that means your polyurethane has worn away and they need to be refinished. This client got our name from Coast Tile & Marble Supply in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. I met the client and went over the entire process with her and we talked about doing different things. Her entire first floor was maple hardwood. We decided to first polyurethane the railing in a higher gloss and then to only refinish the treads of the steps and leave the risers painted white to make the staircase POP. The first day we arrived we sanded all the treads which is the part you stand on and then applied a natural seal coat and our first coat of polyurethane. On that same day we also coated the railing in a glossy finish. We came back the next day and applied our last coat of polyurethane and the job was complete. She had first decided that she wanted a satin finish on the steps to match the floor but after the job was complete she thought it needed a little more shine so we applied a coat of semigloss polyurethane.
You will see in all of these pictures their maple steps came out beautiful. This job came out great and our client was very happy with the outcome. We love making sure all of our clients are thrilled with their jobs because we take great pride in our work.
